IMPReSS: Introduction
IMPReSS (Image PeRimeters of Sky Surveys) plots the
footprints of astronomical observations within a given region of the sky
and a given time. The database includes the accessible missions from
HEASARC, plus IUE and HST. More missions will be added as soon as
possible.
IMPReSS is divided into three working frames:
- Frame 1 (bottom): SELECTING THE SKY REGION
- Parameters: coordinates, equinox, coordinate system, region size,
and start/stop dates.
- Frame 2 (left): MISSION
SELECTION
- Select desired missions from a list of those which have observations in
your region.
-
Frame 3 (right): OBSERVATION
PLOT and DATA ACQUISITION
-
A color-coded plot of the selected observation footprints is produced,
along with a link to the data at the appropriate data center and a list
of all the observations.
