ADC Viewer:
- Non-numeric fields can now be constrained by Perl regular expressions.
- Javascript now catches common errors - no more waits for some error
messages.

ADC Viewer:
18 Sep 1998
Added a few modifications to ADC Viewer:
- Downloaded files now include a header with commented documentation,
so you can now know what those mysterious lines are. Here's an example.
- Some buttons on the cull page have
been renamed to reduce confusion:
- Rename Table (was Save
Table): Changed to reflect that you are only renaming the
table in your workspace, not saving it to your disk (use
Download for that).
- Your Tables (was Saved
Tables): Changed to emphasize that the pull-down menu holds
your tables saved in your workspace.

The ADC Viewer has undergone an extensive internal software rewrite, and
you'll notice a few minor (but helpful) differences:
- Home page: The Viewer top page has been slightly
modified, and is available in both verbose and terse versions.
- Names: Catalog and file names are displayed at the top of the pages.
- Sort: Ascending/descending sort available as separate links for each
field of your table display.
- Workspace: Previously saved tables can be viewed, downloaded, or deleted from
your personal work area.
- Direct access: You can go directly to your workspace if you already have one (by
having created a Viewer table within the last 5 days).
- Display: You can stop the browser's display before it's finished without
breaking the software (in case you get tired of waiting for the full
table to appear).
- Blanks: Specified blank values for a given field are now assigned the
lowest possible value for that format (e.g. an F5.2
blank would be -9.99).
- Pre-processing: Most catalogs are now available for viewing without processing
wait (we're working on the journal tables next).
- Performance: Software performance should be more stable, with fewer errors.
- AEQ: a non-interactive version of the
Viewer is now available.
- Scripts have been renamed (FYI only - no need to remember them):
- select.pl (was adc_viewer_1.pl): Choose table
from available tables in catalog
- specify.pl (was adc_viewer_2.pl): Choose
fields and limits
- cull.pl (was adc_viewer_3.pl): Culls and
displays requested table
